MAY 22nd 2018 LONDON, UK: Asahi UK has launched a brand new beer from its popular super-premium Belgian beer brand, St Stefanus, brewed under care by a 7th generation Belgian brewer.
The beer, St Stefanus Blanche has launched this month, exclusively in Waitrose and is a 5% Belgian wheat beer brewed with coriander and orange peel. It imparts a delicate spicy and citrus aroma.
Much like its sister beer, the original St Stefanus Blonde; the beer perfectly matures in the bottle, meaning it can be enjoyed young for a fruitier flavour, or aged for a more complex flavour with a touch of spice. Similarly, Blanche is unpasteurised and a highly fermented beer that is then refermented in the bottle.
Laura Mitchell, Director of Brand Marketing at Asahi UK commented: “With roots dating back to 1295, our Belgian beer St Stefanus is an extremely popular wheat beer enjoyed by a loyal customer base.
“We know the premium wheat beer segment has grown at around 28%* and therefore it’s incredibly important we continue to enlighten those consumers with new tasting experiences. Like our original brew, St Stefanus Blanche will also be carefully brewed in Ghent, Belgium and can be perfectly matured for an individual tasting experience.”
St Stefanus Blanche is now available in 330ml bottles in selected Waitrose supermarkets and online.
